Academic Programs
At Memorial Elementary, we provide opportunities for students to learn, develop, and succeed. Our academic programs are aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The TEKS are the state standards for what students should know and be able to do. This includes:
- English Language Arts and Reading
- Gifted and Talented
- Mathematics
- Science
- Social Studies
- Languages Other Than English
- Health Education
- Physical Education

- Spanish Language Arts and English as a Second Language

School Processes and Programs
Student Learning Strengths
- Students in 4th and 5th grade are eligible to apply as self managers and hold leadership positions on campus that include morning announcements, mentoring, safety patrol, and more.
- Students can participate in music club, reading clubs, and student council
- School community members are invited to participate on several committees within the campus, including, but not limited to, the Campus Improvement Committee (CIC), School Health Advisory Committee (SHAC), Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), District Educational Improvement Committee (DEIC), and PTA
- America Reads mentors volunteer several hours each week to provide support in reading to our students.
